Introduction

Oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of construction projects, with a strong focus on both building works and civil infrastructure under Design & Build delivery models. Responsible for ensuring that contract administration, procurement, and tendering processes are managed effectively, while safeguarding the company's commercial interests and ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards.

Serve as a key advisor to project teams and management, providing expertise in contract negotiation, claims and variation handling, risk assessment, and dispute resolution. Requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to build constructive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to support the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of contract administration, from tender preparation, negotiation, award, execution, to project close-out.

  • Review, draft, and manage contractual documents including contracts, subcontracts, variations, amendments, and claims.

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to project teams on contractual rights, obligations, and risk management.

  • Oversee procurement and tendering processes to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with project objectives.

  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flows in coordination with project managers and finance teams.

  • Manage and resolve contractual disputes, claims, and settlement processes in a fair and timely manner.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication and strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and international contract standards (e.g., FIDIC, Indonesian contract law).

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract management systems, policies, and procedures within the organization.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or related discipline (Master's degree is an advantage).

  • Minimum 12 years of proven experience in contract management within the construction industry, preferably in Design & Build and large-scale building or civil infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC, Indonesian contract law, and standard forms of construction contracts.

  • Demonstrated ability in tender preparation, contract negotiation, claims management, and dispute resolution.

  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, cost control, and commercial risk management.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the capability to guide and support project teams.

  • High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset

  • Experience working in or with Japanese companies / work culture is highly desirable.
