Introduction

Brunel International is seeking an experienced Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) Cost Controller to join our dynamic team at a mine site in Papua New Guinea. What are you going to do 

As a FIFO Cost Controller based on the mine site in Papua New Guinea, you will be responsible for managing and controlling project costs to ensure budget adherence and financial efficiency. You will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and on-site personnel to monitor expenditure, forecast costs, and provide detailed financial reporting. Your role will be critical in supporting the operational success of the mine site by ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Proven experience as a Cost Controller or similar role, preferably within FIFO mining operations
  • Strong knowledge of cost control processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Experience working on mine sites, preferably in Papua New Guinea or similar remote locations
  • Ability to adapt to FIFO work arrangements and thrive in remote, challenging environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related fields are highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commitment to safety standards and compliance with site regulations
