What are you going to do 

We are reaching out about an excellent permanent opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join our client in the oil and gas sector, based in Fujairah. In this pivotal role, you will safeguard our client's reputation by overseeing regulatory, legal, and ESG compliance, working closely with UAE authorities and capital market regulators, while supporting our client's strategic growth and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify the scope of compliance by the Company and its employees with issued laws, regulations, and resolutions.
  • Coordinate with Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) & Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).
  • Ensure material operational supply disruptions or financial irregularities are immediately and transparently disclosed to the SCA and relevant stock exchange (ADX).
  • Audit the corporate registry of insiders and enforce blackout trading windows prior to publication of quarterly financial disclosures.
  • Identify compliance bottlenecks and set out an annual compliance action plan, adjusted periodically for regulatory changes.
  • Independently prepare and submit compliance reports to the Audit Committee regarding significant matters, irregularities, and systemic risks.
  • Establish whistleblowing programs and internal policies protecting staff who report fraud, ethical breaches, or misconduct.
  • Independently investigate and take corrective action on internal compliance failures or regulatory breaches.
  • Direct internal compliance teams and coordinate/monitor external corporate and regulatory audits.
  • Lead data aggregation and draft the company's annual ESG report using GRI/SASB frameworks as required by SCA.
  • Oversee validity of MoIAT product certifications, including ECAS and Emirates Quality Mark (EQM).
  • Serve as primary liaison with Fujairah Free Zone Authority (FFZA), Fujairah Municipality, and Fujairah Civil Defence for facility licenses, environmental permits, and product approvals.
  • Log and audit plant emissions and waste management workflows per UAE Federal Decree-Law No. (11) of 2024.
  • Coordinate with local authorities (Municipality, FNRC, Chamber of Commerce, Civil Defence, etc.).
  • Follow up with advocates and legal consultants regarding the company compliance issue.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive regulatory compliance experience within the UAE. Crucially, candidates must have exposure to both a listed corporate environment (SCA rules) .
  • Professional in English is required. Professional fluency in Arabic is highly recommended to manage direct, un-intermediated relations with ministries and local Fujairah authorities.
  • Proven experience operating and filing within the online portals of MoIAT, UAE Exchange Disclosures (DFM/ADX), and local Fujairah digital government networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, strategic direction, and educational training programs to operations staff to improve factory-wide understanding of compliance goals.
