Introduction

Overseeing on-site electrical installation and commissioning activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with technical and regulatory requirements. Lead on-site installation, commissioning, and integration activities for utility-scale energy storage assets. This is a hands-on role with full responsibility for site delivery, safety and quality.

What are you going to do 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and coordinating electrical commissioning teams on site
  • Managing installation and integration of BESS units, including PCS and associated electrical systems
  • Ensuring compliance with WHSE requirements, electrical standards, and site policies
  • Managing electrical subcontractors and internal commissioning engineers
  • Troubleshooting electrical and commissioning issues to minimise downtime
  • Leading daily site activities, toolbox talks, and contractor coordination
  • Attending principal contractor meetings and cascading information to site teams
  • Daily reporting of site progress, risks, and issues to project management
  • Tracking project schedules and supporting on-time delivery
  • Coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities during commissioning
  • Ensuring asset quality, reliability, and operational readiness

About You

  • Electrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience supervising electrical works, ideally within renewables or BESS projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and commissioning processes
  • Confident managing subcontractors, site teams, and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organisational, reporting, and leadership capability
  • Clear focus on safety, quality, and delivery outcomes

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Utility-scale BESS commissioning experience, including exposure to BMS, PCS, and EMS/SCADA
  • Experience commissioning or working alongside tier-one BESS OEM technologies
  • South Australian A-Grade Electrical License
  • Exposure to fire suppression systems, HVAC, and protection relays
