Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist who is looking to take ownership of production geology activities and play a key role in improving operational performance.

Working closely with the Geology Superintendent, Mining Engineers and Production teams, you will provide high-quality geological support across grade control, ore management, reconciliation and short-term planning activities.

About this role

  • Provide senior geological support to an open pit gold mining operation
  • Manage and optimise grade control activities to support production targets
  • Complete ore block design, ore spotting and dig planning activities
  • Conduct geological mapping, interpretation and data validation
  • Support mine-to-mill reconciliation processes and identify improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with Mining, Planning and Processing teams to optimise ore recovery
  • Maintain geological models and support short-term production planning
  • Assist with QA/QC processes and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor junior geologists and support geology technicians

Is this you?

  • Previous experience as a Senior Mine Geologist within an operating open pit environment
  • Experience operating at Senior Mine Geologist level
  • Strong open pit gold mining experience
  • Proven experience in grade control, reconciliation, ore control and dilution management
  • Practical experience using Datamine within a production geology environment
  • Strong understanding of geological modelling and mine planning processes
  • Ability to work autonomously and make sound operational decisions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams
  • Australian mining experience and unrestricted working rights
