As a Machine Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating automation and control solutions for complex mechatronic systems. You will work at the intersection of software and mechatronics, playing a key role in creating reliable, predictable, and intelligent machine behavior. Together with multidisciplinary teams, you will translate innovative concepts into robust and scalable machine solutions.

What will you do?

  • Design and optimize control and automation logic for complex mechatronic systems.
  • Develop sequencing, scheduling, and state-based models for machine behavior.
  • Coordinate autonomous subsystems and ensure consistent system-level operation.
  • Analyze system communication, network behavior, and timing constraints to improve performance and reliability.
  • Develop strategies for fault handling, damage control, and safe system recovery.
  • Define and implement calibration, monitoring, and diagnostic concepts to optimize system performance.
  • Model, simulate, and validate system behavior while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated machine solutions.

You are analytical, structured, and motivated by solving complex technical challenges. You thrive in multidisciplinary environments, think at system level, and are able to translate technical concepts into practical and scalable solutions. You take a proactive approach and enjoy working closely with specialists from different engineering disciplines to drive innovation forward.

In addition, you have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and Python.
  • Knowledge of sequencing, scheduling, state modelling, and autonomous systems.
  • Experience in high-tech environments such as semiconductor equipment, robotics, or precision positioning systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • Must live in the Netherlands, within 50 km of Eindhoven.
