Introduction

  • Prepare and ensure all testing and analysis is completed accurately and on time and conduct complex testing analysis and data interpretation for all laboratories.
  • Reports to Head of Laboratory.
  • Internal: Regular contact with various contacts within Laboratory Division. Occasional contact with RLTO, Refinery, Maintenance, Shutdown and Logistics, Supply, and Cost and Contracts departments.
  • External: Occasional contact with vendors and 3rd party services providers.
  • Responsible for understanding, implementing, and assuring laboratory operations adhere to the ISO 17025 system.

About this role

  • Supervise Laboratory personnel, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work and training staff to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform diagnostic tests using advanced laboratory procedures and complex equipment according to specialized client requirements.
  • Issue Certificates of Quality to record determinations of quality of samples for delivery.
  • Perform advanced laboratory tests, analyze, and interpret data and make appropriate entries into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Analyze data from technicians, conduct calculations and prepare results for presentation or reports.
  • Conduct quality control programs using advanced analysis methods, tests, equipment, and Control techniques. Remedy deviations and apply corrective measures if required.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on test equipment and instrumentation and improve efficiency, accuracy, and precision of measurement methods.
  • Assist in implementing safety programs to prevent and correct unsafe environmental or working conditions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff to develop or improve measurement methods or materials characterization techniques.
  • Act as safety officer handling housekeeping, bi-weekly safety meetings, monthly safety walkthroughs, safety toolbox talks, and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) cards.

Is this you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science related discipline.
  • 6 years working in a laboratory environment within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality Management principles under ISO 9000 & ISO 17025.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Sound coaching skills and ability to conduct training.
  • Fluent in English with demonstrated verbal and written skills.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office Suite, and relevant computerized laboratory databases.
  • Only candidates who are locally available in Tunisia and Algeria will be considered.
