Introduction

Our client, a tier-one mining and resources organisation, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of large-scale renewable energy and construction projects. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing project team and play a key role in driving a proactive safety culture across complex site-based operations.

About this role

Working closely with project leaders, contractors, and frontline personnel, you will provide practical safety leadership, coaching, and support to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across site operations.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders, employees, and contractors on health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct field leadership activities, workplace inspections, critical control monitoring, and planned task observations.
  • Review safety documentation including JHAs, permits, training records, and high-risk work requirements.
  • Participate in risk assessments, contractor audits, and safety assurance activities.
  • Support incident investigations and provide input into ICAM investigations where required.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and assist with KPI reporting and compliance activities.
  • Assist with contractor mobilisation, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Is this you?

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in mining, construction, oil & gas, processing, or major project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in contractor management and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and safety management systems.
  • ICAM Investigation training or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels.
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
