Brunel is partnering with a large pharmaceutical and manufacturing company who are seeking a skilled and experienced Process Engineer to join their team in Broadmeadows, Melbourne.

About this role

The Process Engineer will join the Utilities department within their Broadmeadows site and will play a vital role in ensuring a dependable supply of utilities that meet cGMP quality standards to support their Manufacturing Operations. Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, you will provide professional engineering services including engineering best practice on equipment selection, maintenance, operation, performance monitoring and improvement on our relevant systems [HVAC, pure water systems, pure steam, bulk reagents, gases and mechanical services].

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a pivotal role in operational readiness for projects, establishing preventative maintenance programs, and coordinating spare parts integration.
  • Oversee the end-of-year equipment installation phase, meticulously reviewing the Installation, Operation, and Performance Qualification (IOP) for new assets.
  • Provide unwavering support to commissioning efforts, working alongside dedicated project teams.
  • Engineer robust solutions to enhance the efficiency and dependability of critical Utilities equipment.
  • Champion operational readiness within projects, encompassing equipment selection, preventive maintenance strategy development, and asset criticality evaluations.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement programs through processes like change controls, CAPAs, and safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance, streamline operations, and optimize processes across vital Utilities facilities.
  • Develop and refine preventive maintenance programs to ensure operational excellence.
  • Enhance plant availability while contributing to technical investigations and root cause analyses. This includes oversight of contractors during regular maintenance, shutdowns, and projects.
  • Lead comprehensive investigations into significant plant services deviations.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships to guarantee that new projects and equipment installations in the department reliably supply Utilities that meet Manufacturing Operations' needs.

Is this you?

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of Process Engineering experience: Siemens PCS 7, field bus and instrumentation process control will be regarded.
  • You can demonstrate knowledge of plant diagnostic methods, reliability engineering and critical thinking abilities.
  • You'll demonstrate experience with utilities plants including the maintenance and operation of the following: water purification, HVAC or mechanical services.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or an allied industry will be highly valued (food, chemical, FMCG, automotive).
