Brunel has exclusively partnered with a leading integrated energy business to source an experienced and forward-thinking leader to head Operational Risk & Resilience across its national operations.

This is a pivotal leadership role offering broad exposure across the business, responsible for embedding a proactive risk culture, strengthening assurance frameworks, and uplifting resilience and security across critical energy infrastructure.

About this role

Reporting to the GM, the Head of Operational Risk & Resilience will lead the implementation of enterprise-aligned frameworks that enhance operational risk management, assurance, and business resilience.

The position plays a key role in driving cultural change from risk avoidance to active risk management, while ensuring a unified, national approach to security, business continuity, and crisis preparedness.

Is this you?

You are an experienced senior leader in risk, assurance, or resilience, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in delivery. You thrive in complex, asset-intensive environments and can build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.

Key attributes include:

  • Proven background in operational or enterprise risk within energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong capability in leading risk, assurance, and resilience functions across national or multi-site operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Track record of embedding frameworks that improve risk maturity and operational performance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, or Risk Management (postgraduate or professional certifications advantageous).
