About this role

Based in Bentley and reporting to the Planning Manager, you'll sit within a high-performing Future Energy team responsible for planning and developing power systems that serve regional and remote communities across WA's vast 2.3 million km² network. This is serious engineering work with real-world impact at scale.

Your day-to-day will span:

  • Power system load flow, dispatch and dynamic modelling (RMS and EMT)
  • Renewable Energy Connection Assessments
  • Short to Medium Term Capacity Planning and Load and Circuit Development
  • Technical evaluation of DER integration and emerging grid technologies
  • Financial analysis of feasible network solutions
  • Maintaining system planning models and upholding planning standards
  • Mentoring and knowledge sharing within the team

Is this you?

You're a technically capable and commercially minded engineer who enjoys solving complex problems. You'll bring:

  • A relevant Engineering Degree, with Chartered Engineers Australia membership highly regarded
  • Strong experience in energy system planning across generation, transmission and/or distribution
  • Advanced power system modelling capability across RMS, EMT, load flow and dispatch studies
  • A solid understanding of renewable energy and inverter-based generation technologies
  • Experience using PowerFactory would be highly regarded
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
