Introduction

On behalf of our client, a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently seeking a Projects Controls Analyst (D&C) to support Drilling, Completions and Brownfields Project activities within a dynamic project delivery environment. This will be a 12 month contract located in the heart of the Brisbane CBD.

About this role

Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, you will provide cost control and transactional support across project activities, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting and financial processing.

Cost Control

  • Prepare budgets and AFEs and perform budget control against EAC including variance analysis
  • Support lifecycle cost forecasting and monthly cost reporting
  • Monitor commitments and ensure costs are correctly allocated in conjunction with Finance
  • Establish and manage accruals to ensure actual costs accurately reflect value of work done (VOWD)
  • Analyse historical cost data and trends to support forecasting activities
  • Maintain cost books and contract rates within estimation tools
  • Provide reporting inputs and investigate cost variances

Transactional Support

  • Manage transactional activities for D&C Team
  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions accurately
  • Support invoice validation, SES processing and accounts payable workflows
  • Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing and payment allocation
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, JV Agreements and Delegation of Authority requirements
  • Support Continuous Improvement of systems, processes and reporting tools

Is this you?

  • Previous experience in project controls, cost control, finance or transactional support
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Previous SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Experience supporting procurement, contracts or vendor management processes
  • Exposure to project delivery, engineering, resources or energy environments will be highly regarded
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • Resilience, adaptability and a willingness to learn
