Introduction

Our client is a leading Australian drilling contractor providing specialist exploration and directional drilling services across remote mining operations in Western Australia. They are seeking motivated and safety-focused Drilling Offsiders to join their field teams on a 2:2 FIFO roster in the Goldfields region. This hands-on role involves assisting with VR-330 directional drilling operations, rig setup, equipment handling and general field support.

About this role

  • Assist the Driller with daily drilling operations on a VR-330 Directional Drilling Rig.
  • Handle drill rods, tooling, casing, and consumables safely and efficiently.
  • Support rig set-up, pack-up, mobilisation, and relocation activities.
  • Conduct routine housekeeping and maintain a clean, organised worksite.
  • Perform equipment checks, greasing, refuelling, and minor maintenance tasks.
  • Mix drilling fluids and manage water supply systems as required.
  • Assist with sample collection and handling where applicable.
  • Follow drilling plans and instructions from the Driller and Supervisor.
  • Identify hazards and actively participate in site safety processes.
  • Comply with all company, client, and statutory safety requirements.
  • Work effectively in remote and changing weather conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and pre-start documentation.

Is this you?

Essential Requirement

  • Current HR-B Class Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain).
  • National Police Clearance (if required by client).
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • High level of physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
  • Ability to work away from home on a 2:2 roster
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Previous mining, labouring, mechanical, or drilling experience desirable but not essential.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working with VR-330 Directional Drilling Rig or similar rigs.
  • Exposure to the oil & gas drilling industry
  • Loader, forklift, or telehandler tickets.
  • Working at Heights.
  • Confined Space Entry.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • 4WD training.
