Introduction

On behalf of our client, a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently seeking x 2 Cost Controllers, to join the Offshore Project Services Team supporting a diverse portfolio of Offshore Energy projects. These will be 12 month contracts located in the heart of the Perth CBD.

About this role

Reporting to the Project Services Lead - Cost, you will support the delivery of cost control activities across a portfolio of offshore projects ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting and financial performance management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Manage cost control activities across assigned offshore projects
  • Maintain project cost forecasts in line with approved procedures and project schedules
  • Prepare and manage Value of Work Done (VOWD), Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
  • Coordinate monthly accruals, variance analysis and month-end reporting activities
  • Prepare and publish monthly cost reports and Power BI dashboards
  • Monitor contractor work packages and validate contractor invoices
  • Support contingency management and drawdown forecasting
  • Update and maintain project financials within the Prism cost control system
  • Support annual budget and Long-Term Planning processes
  • Partner with Project Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to provide cost reporting and analysis
  • Assist with audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support project closeout activities relating to cost management

Is this you?

  • Previous experience in Cost Control or Cost Engineering within Capital Projects
  • Exposure to Oil & Gas, Offshore, Drilling & Completions or major infrastructure projects will be highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Finance, Business, Commercial or Construction Management
  • Understanding of project services and project contracting/procurement disciplines
  • Experience using SAP, Power BI and project cost systems such as Prism is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to develop management reports and presentations
  • A collaborative approach with strong interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Positive attitude, adaptability and willingness to learn
