Introduction

Based at our client new Redcliffe and Hazelmere R&D facilities and reporting to the Heavy Industry Integration Principal Engineer, we are presently looking for an experienced System Engineer to join their Battery Fast Charger team.

About this role

  • Lead and execute the systems engineering process, including requirements analysis, system architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers to design and develop charging products.
  • Lead the requirements analysis and definition process for battery charging projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop system architecture and integration plans for charger components and subsystems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address technical challenges and project uncertainties.
  • Support the procurement process by evaluating supplier proposals and providing technical guidance throughout the vendor selection process.
  • Participate in design reviews, verification, and validation activities to ensure adherence to project requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules, track progress, and identify resource requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and team members.

Is this you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven Systems Engineering experience in the design and development of electrical products for heavy industryapplications.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations advantageous
  • Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies, including requirements management, FMEA, system modelling, MBSE and simulation (e.g. DOORS, SysML, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and develop effectivesolutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.2/2
  • Experience with project management practices and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA) is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt to changing project priorities andrequirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work products on schedule.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems engineering principles and methodologies is a plus.
