Introduction

Experienced SMP Engineer required for a FIFO 2:1 Owner's Team role on a major Pilbara bulk export infrastructure project. Support delivery of structural, mechanical and civil works, coordinate contractors, manage QA/QC and drive safe construction outcomes across multiple work fronts.

About this role

  • Coordinate day-to-day SMP construction activities across structural, mechanical and associated civil works
  • Oversee contractor performance to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification
  • Drive a strong safety culture through field leadership, inspections, pre-starts and proactive risk management
  • Monitor project progress against schedule and support short-term planning and recovery initiatives
  • Manage QA/QC activities including ITPs, inspections, hold points, NCRs and handover documentation
  • Coordinate site engineering activities including RFIs, redline mark-ups, as-builts and drawing conformance
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting through Aconex and project management systems
  • Support interface coordination between SMP, civil, electrical and commissioning work fronts
  • Assist with subcontractor management, scope clarifications, progress tracking and variation assessments
  • Ensure works comply with project specifications, Australian Standards and client requirements
  • Support commissioning readiness, punch list close-out and subsystem handovers
  • Build strong working relationships across the project team, contractors and client stakeholders

Is this you?

  • Degree qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in site-based project engineering within mining, infrastructure, ports or heavy industry projects
  • Strong experience coordinating SMP and/or civil construction activities on large-scale projects
  • Sound understanding of QA/QC processes, ITPs, inspections and Australian Standards
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple work fronts in a live construction environment
  • Experience with short-term planning, progress tracking and construction reporting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a FIFO site environment and fast-paced project team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with exposure to project systems such as Aconex, MS Project or Primavera P6 advantageous
  • Construction White Card and current Australian Driver's Licence preferred
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
