Process Engineering Head

Introduction
Responsible for overseeing and leading process engineering activities in the COMPANY Onshore Common Lean LNG Storage and Loading Expansion Project (EPC-2). Position ensures all process engineering design requirements such as project philosophies, design basis, specifications, codes and standards are in full compliance with project and the COMPANY requirements. Position shall deliver discipline results to the highest technical quality standards and provides clear guidance to the EPC contractor including facilitating resolution of process issues such that all process design requirements meet project objectives.
Position is site based, located in Project Site Offices (Field Operations Center) in Qatar.
This position is responsible to ensure all technical activities associated with process engineering by the EPC contractor, and all third parties such as 3rd party consultants, vendors, sub-contractors etc. are executed to the COMPANY Project’s design requirements and specifications.
This could involve technical evaluations, including risk-based evaluation of complex engineering issues, resolution of process related matters with significant project execution and/or commercial impact to ensure optimum outcomes that meet technical and execution expectations.
Major challenges for this role include (1) effectively guiding EPC contractor, including 3rd party consultants, vendors and pre-comm/comm team. (2) maintaining constructive working relationship with EPC contractor, consultants, and vendors to ensure delivery and execution of work scope in accordance with project specifications/requirements and (3) maintaining good relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Operations, engineering, commissioning) to ensure alignment of process work execution.
About this role
Provides Process engineering knowledge, expertise and leadership for the design and quality assurance of the process discipline.
Ensure process engineering activities meet local regulatory requirements, codes and standards, project specifications and industry practices. Ensure that EPC contractors are conducting process design in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
Address process discipline issues timely to ensure HMB, PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOP, MDR etc. meet the COMPANY Project’s objectives and schedule.
Ensure approved design recommendations and lessons learned are utilized to improve process design integrity, improve operability, and maintain high deign safety standards.
Steward Contractors’ process design and execution activities in accordance with specifications, verify adequacy of Contractor resources and personnel competency for the tasks, employment of appropriate tools including use of approved process software.
Coordinate and analyze discipline issues for resolution. Provide Process Engineering input to other engineering disciplines, procurement, commissioning etc. Support commissioning and system completing activities and make appropriate recommendations to management on process discipline matters.
Is this you?
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
10 years’ experience in process engineering discipline in large oil & gas projects. Broad knowledge of engineering execution including design practices and exposure to onshore LNG facilities.
Strong leadership skills, personal integrity, experience guiding and assisting contractor teams.
Fluent in written and oral English.
Strong analytical, organizational, coordination and planning skills.
Good communication skills and ability to interact / interface at all levels.
Good mediation skills including conflict resolution, problem-solving, creative thinking, influencing and empathy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
Deep knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards and practices
