Brunel is supporting a major player in the Oil & Gas industry in the search for an experienced Operations Geologist for an exciting international opportunity based in Suriname.

Location: Paramaribo, Suriname

Contract Duration: 2 years

Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off

About this role

We are looking for professionals with strong experience in geological operations support during drilling campaigns, ideally within offshore exploration environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Real-time geological operations monitoring while drilling
  • Pore & fracture pressure follow-up and temperature monitoring
  • Well preparation activities (3W / WSOR processes)
  • Coordination of geological data acquisition programs
  • Support and coordination of wellsite geological teams
  • Post-well analysis, reporting, and data archiving
  • Interface with Subsurface, Asset, Operational and HSE teams
  • Management of service providers and data acquisition quality
  • Contribution to well optimization, operational efficiency, and HSE compliance

The successful candidate will play a critical role throughout the full well lifecycle (from planning and execution through post-well evaluation), while ensuring operational integrity, data quality, and compliance with local regulations.

Is this you?

  • Strong background in exploration drilling operations
  • Experience with geological operations and real-time drilling support
  • Offshore exposure is highly desirable
  • Ability to work in multicultural and highly collaborative environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Occasional offshore visits and regional travel may be required.
