Introduction

We are supporting a growing underground gold operation in Western Australia seeking an experienced Underground Planning Engineer to join its technical services team.

You'll be responsible for delivering practical mine plans and designs while working closely with operations, geology, geotechnical and survey teams to support safe, efficient production and drive continuous operational improvement.

About this role

  • Developing short, medium, and long-term underground mine plans and schedules
  • Preparing weekly production schedules aligned with operational targets
  • Designing underground mine layouts, development plans, and stope designs
  • Supporting drill and blast planning and production activities
  • Reviewing mine plans and identifying operational risks
  • Reconciling planned activities against actual production outcomes
  • Working closely with underground operations, geology, geotechnical, and survey teams
  • Providing technical support to improve safety, productivity, and mine performance
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and planning processes

Is this you?

  • Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • Previous underground hard rock mining experience
  • Experience within underground gold mining highly desirable
  • Experience in short-term mine planning and scheduling
  • Exposure to underground mine design and production planning
  • Strong experience with Deswik or similar mine planning software
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and deliver practical mining solutions
