Introduction

On behalf of our client, a World Leader within the Energy / Oil & Gas sector, Brunel is presently sourcing a Material Buyer and Expeditor to support sourcing, purchasing, supplier engagement, purchase order management, expediting and material delivery activities. This will be a 12 month contract based in the Perth CBD.

About this role

Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers and Offshore Buyer Support Teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Source local and international suppliers for materials and inventory
  • Prepare RFQs, evaluate responses and negotiate pricing, terms and delivery
  • Raise and manage Purchase Orders through SAP MM
  • Expedite materials to meet operational and shutdown schedules
  • Resolve supplier, technical, invoice and procurement-related queries
  • Coordinate with Operations, Logistics, Quality and offshore Buyer Support teams
  • Monitor long lead and critical material requirements through SAP reporting
  • Maintain procurement documentation, audit trails and supplier relationships
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and expediting activities

Is this you?

  • Previous procurement experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry sector
  • Experience supporting project or shutdown material procurement and expediting
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, procurement and materials management processes
  • Experience with supplier negotiations, purchase orders and inventory management
  • Advanced SAP MM proficiency
  • Understanding of local content requirements and procurement procedures
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Working knowledge of Engineering, Construction and Service Delivery practices
