We are seeking a Machinery Engineer to provide engineering support for rotating equipment within a refinery and petrochemical operating environment.
The role supports plant operations through technical troubleshooting, engineering assessments, reliability improvement initiatives, equipment failure investigations, and engineering recommendations. This is an engineering advisory role and is not focused on routine maintenance execution or repair supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day field engineering support for machinery equipment.
- Perform machinery troubleshooting and provide engineering solutions and follow-up actions.
- Conduct engineering assessments, equipment failure investigations, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Support refinery and petrochemical operations to ensure safe and reliable plant performance.
- Develop and implement long-term equipment reliability improvement initiatives.
- Support major shutdowns, turnarounds, and major equipment maintenance activities.
- Perform machinery performance reviews and recommend equipment improvements.
- Identify and proactively mitigate recurring equipment reliability issues and bad actors.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Process, Instrumentation and Electrical teams.
- Provide technical guidance and training within the area of expertise.
- Ensure compliance with site safety, health and environmental requirements and company standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, chemical processing or related operating facilities.
- Experience supporting rotating equipment in a live operating plant environment.
- Practical experience with one or more of the following: Centrifugal Compressors,Reciprocating Compressors, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Pumps, Dry Gas Seal Systems.
- Sound mechanical engineering fundamentals and machinery knowledge.
- Ability to analyse equipment problems and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Knowledge of machinery troubleshooting, reliability improvement and failure analysis.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams.
