The Lab Chemical Analyst is responsible for performing routine laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to support production operations and ensure product quality meets established standards. This role focuses on operational and production testing activities within a manufacturing environment rather than research and development (R&D).
- Perform routine laboratory testing and quality control analysis on production samples.
- Conduct testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products according to approved procedures.
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
- Support production teams by providing timely testing results to facilitate operational decisions.
- Investigate and escalate abnormal test results where necessary.
- Maintain proper laboratory documentation and housekeeping standards.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- ITE, Higher Nitec, or Polytechnic Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Applied Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with prior laboratory testing experience in a manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, lubricant, pharmaceutical, or related environment will have an advantage.
- Familiarity with quality control testing and laboratory procedures is preferred.
- Good attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work independently.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and laboratory documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
