Brunel is partnering with a leading multinational mining company to recruit an experienced Environmental Specialist for a major mining project in Indonesia.
Exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable mining operations by ensuring environmental compliance, supporting responsible resource development, and driving best practices in environmental management throughout the project lifecycle.
About this role
- Implement and monitor environmental management programs in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licenses, and applicable Indonesian environmental regulations.
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and field monitoring activities.
- Coordinate environmental impact assessments (AMDAL), environmental reporting, and regulatory submissions.
- Monitor air quality, water quality, waste management, biodiversity, rehabilitation, and other environmental performance indicators.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions related to environmental matters.
- Collaborate with operations, HSE, contractors, and government authorities to promote environmental stewardship.
- Develop and deliver environmental awareness programs and training for employees and contractors.
- Prepare environmental performance reports for management and regulatory stakeholders.
Is this you?
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Forestry, Biology, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental management within the mining, oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of Indonesian environmental legislation, permitting, AMDAL processes, and environmental compliance.
- Experience in environmental monitoring, rehabilitation, waste management, water management, and environmental reporting.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Willingness to work at a mining project site as required.
