Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced Water Services Electrician to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems supporting critical water infrastructure on a remote mining site. Working within the Water Management team, you will respond to breakdowns, perform fault finding, and ensure the reliability of water supply and dewatering systems to maximise asset availability and support continuous mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance across water services infrastructure, including borefields, pump stations, and associated facilities.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify faults across low voltage electrical systems to minimise downtime and maintain system availability.
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment such as:
    • Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
    • Bore and transfer pumps
    • Diesel generators
    • Monitoring and control systems (including instrumentation and telemetry)
    • Motor control centres (MCCs)
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and operational issues, ensuring safe isolation, fault identification, and return to service.
  • Conduct statutory inspections, testing, and compliance activities in accordance with Australian Standards, site procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, defect reports, and work orders accurately within site CMMS systems.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical, operations, and water management teams to support system performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety leadership, and compliance with site safety management systems.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Current WA A-Grade Electrical Licence
  • Current WA Driver's Licence
  • CPR / LVR certification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience working as an Electrician in a mining, utilities, or heavy industrial environment
  • Proven fault-finding and breakdown response capability

Desirable:

  • Experience working on water services, dewatering, or borefield infrastructure
  • Exposure to VSDs, generators, MCCs, and remote site power systems
  • Instrumentation and telemetry experience
  • Previous FIFO experience on large-scale mining operations
