Introduction

This is a senior contract management position for a professional with strong experience in large-scale construction, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial projects, with the ability to manage commercial and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.

About this role

  • Manage and administer construction and EPC contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead contract administration, commercial management, variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
  • Monitor contractor performance, contractual obligations, deliverables, and compliance.
  • Review and manage variation orders, extension of time (EOT), claims, disputes, and commercial risks.
  • Ensure contractual requirements are properly interpreted and implemented across project activities.
  • Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, Cost Control, and Legal teams.
  • Manage commercial interfaces with main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Review payment applications, progress claims, supporting documentation, and contractual entitlements.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Support negotiations with contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence, notices, and commercial documentation.
  • Prepare regular contractual and commercial reports for project leadership.
  • Ensure project activities remain aligned with approved contracts, budgets, schedules, and company procedures.

Is this you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in contract management, with significant exposure to construction projects.
  • Strong experience working on large-scale construction, EPC, mining, infrastructure, industrial, or major capital projects.
  • Proven experience managing main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and complex contractual interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of construction project execution and the commercial implications of scope, schedule, cost, and technical changes.
  • Experience working with international contractors and multinational project teams is highly advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote mining/project environment in Papua.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
