Location: Shanghai, China → Singapore → Offshore Duration: Initial 6 Months in Shanghai, followed by assignment in Singapore and Offshore Commissioning Campaign

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning ICSS Superintendent to support the execution of a major FPSO project from the final construction and integration phase through offshore commissioning and startup. The successful candidate will lead all Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) commissioning activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of automation and safety systems from mechanical completion to operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all ICSS commissioning activities during yard integration, topsides completion, sail-away preparation, offshore hook-up, and startup phases.
  • Manage pre-commissioning, loop testing, functional testing, SAT execution, integrated system testing, and dynamic commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities associated with:
    • DCS (Distributed Control System)
    • ESD (Emergency Shutdown System)
    • F&G (Fire & Gas System)
    • HIPPS
    • PLC and Package Unit Interfaces
    • Telecom and Marine Systems Interfaces
  • Ensure commissioning procedures, test forms, dossiers, and handover documentation are prepared, reviewed, and executed in accordance with project requirements.
  • Work closely with Construction, Engineering, Mechanical Completion, Marine Operations, Vendors, and Operations teams to achieve planned milestones.
  • Supervise ICSS commissioning engineers, technicians, and vendor representatives.
  • Monitor and manage punch lists, system walkdowns, and completion activities.
  • Participate in commissioning planning, schedule development, and resource forecasting.
  • Support integration testing between automation, electrical, instrumentation, process, and marine systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of control system issues during commissioning and startup.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, SIMOPS requirements, and offshore safety standards.
  • Support offshore sail-away, commissioning, startup, performance testing, and final system handover to Operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in ICSS, Automation, Instrumentation, or Commissioning within Oil & Gas projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Commissioning Lead, Supervisor, or Superintendent role.
  • Proven experience on at least one FPSO, FLNG, FSRU, offshore platform, or similar floating production project.
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • ICSS Architecture
    • Yokogawa, Honeywell, Emerson, ABB, Siemens, or Schneider Systems
    • DCS, ESD, F&G, PLC, and SCADA systems
    • Industrial Networks and Communication Protocols
    • Cause & Effect Testing
    • Package Interface Management
  • Experience with Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Management Systems such as ICAPS, PIMS, ProCoSys, or WinPCS.
  • Familiarity with offshore commissioning, startup, and operational readiness processes.
  • Strong understanding of international standards and industry practices applicable to offshore Oil & Gas projects.
  • Previous experience working within shipyards, module integration facilities, and offshore environments.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • FPSO topsides integration and commissioning experience in China shipyards.
  • Experience supporting vessel transit, Singapore integration activities, and offshore commissioning campaigns.
  • Previous involvement in startup and first oil/gas activities.
  • Experience managing automation vendors and multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
