Brunel Australasia is partnering with a large, leading energy company to source an experienced Approvals Advisor working in their Brisbane CBD office.

About this role

Are you an experienced Approvals Advisor with a background in obtaining environmental permits and approvals in the CSG industry? This role offers the opportunity to enhance your problem-solving and negotiation skills while working for an industry leader.

Responsibilities – To include but are not limited too:

  • Support the timely delivery of environmental permits, approvals, and amendments for assets.
  • Interpret and implement environmental approvals, preparing new and amending existing authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental approvals.
  • Identify and provide potential solutions to streamline the environmental permits and approvals process.
  • Deliver environmental regulatory approvals, environment reviews, plan of operations, and estimated rehabilitation cost calculations.
  • Advocate for positive environmental legislation, policy, and statutory settings.
  • Keep the business updated on changes to environmental regulations, legislation, policy, and guidelines.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement efficiencies in regulatory approvals administration.
  • Promote environmental awareness and approval compliance within the business.

Is this you?

  • Degree in environmental planning, science, or law (essential).
  • Extensive experience in Environmental Statutory approvals in the resources sector.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation and policies.
  • Understanding of QLD's Environmental Protection Act 1994, Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004, and Nature Conservation Act 1992.
  • Proven ability to prepare high-quality application documents for timely regulatory approvals.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Team player with the ability to translate business project requirements into innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • Determination to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Outstanding collaboration, negotiation, stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with staff, contractors, and external suppliers.
  • Must have full working rights in Australia at time of application.
