Introduction

Our client, a well-established and respected organisation operating within the oil & gas drilling sector, is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to take full operational ownership of their Toowoomba facility.

You will lead a skilled team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the facility meets and exceeds revenue targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.

About this role

  • Manage and drive production activities to achieve revenue targets, including leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee client machining tasks to relevant industrial standards
  • Lead, develop, and mentor employees across the facility
  • Take ownership of month-end processes and invoicing
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and API Q1 (9th Edition) quality standards
  • Optimise equipment utilisation and uptime, reducing running costs and improving throughput
  • Maintain and enhance quality systems and WIP (work in progress) management
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Deliver onsite training to machine shop and inspection staff
  • Champion all safety measures, lead site safety performance, and ensure emergency plans are in place and practised

Is this you?

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position within a machining or manufacturing environment

  • Trade certification in Machining OR a demonstrable, deep understanding of machining processes
  • Proven experience within the oil & gas drilling industry
  • Familiarity with manufacturing excellence methodologies - Lean, 5S, waste elimination, visual communication
  • Experience in production planning and scheduling
  • Knowledge of machining techniques and CNC machine programming
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication - able to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and all levels of the organisation

  • Systematic problem-solving skills and practical decision-making ability
