Introduction

Brunel Papua New Guinea are seeking a Transit Leader to work with one of the largest energy companies in the world, who have assets in Oil & Gas, LNG and Renewable energy.

What are you going to do 

Reporting into the Head of Logistics & Methods, you will develop the global Import/Export activity under all mandatory international/ national regulations and agencies. Manage importation of Air and Sea freight for operations and project delivery point.

Key Duties

  • Develop Transit procedures to ensure importation and exportation are in compliance with all International & National regulation and laws.
  • Develop robust criteria that ensures the Freight forwarders comply with contract anti-bribery clauses throughout the life of the freight forwarding & customs clearance contract.
  • Ensure the Company freight forwarding processes are in line with company rules and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure Freight forwarder(s) comply with the guides and all applicable rules.
  • Manages compliance exposure and company reputation as regarding use of licensed agents, payment of taxes, duties and levies.
  • Manages the process for correct interpretation of fiscal policies for Exemptions of Import Duty, Taxes and Levies.
  • Ensure good management for documentation and archiving of all the Freight forwarding documents in with the applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Develop Annual Transit plan for effective integration with Project/ Operations plans.
  • Manage Freight forwarding and customs clearance contracts.
  • Develop the necessary measures to ensure cost optimization for the Transit function.
  • Develop process to manage the changing laws and decrees governing the Transit & Freight forwarding operations

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in any Social Science discipline
  • Good interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, negotiable and team management skills
  • Excellent knowledge in Legal environment, Insurance, Tax and Exemptions
  • Technical knowledge of freight laws, fiscal regulations guiding imports of the various countries is mandatory
  • Membership of Supply Chain professional bodies will be an advantage
  • 7+ years in Oil & Gas or related industry experience in International Trade and Shipping
