This role follows a rotating 12-hour swing shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

What are you going to do 

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable Laboratory Technician to support laboratory supervisors and chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis on product and in-process samples. This role supports plant operations through quality assurance and quality control activities in an industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience and prior exposure to shift-based operations in industrial environments such as chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing and wet chemistry analysis on product and process samples
  • Support quality assurance and quality control initiatives by generating accurate analytical data
  • Prepare samples for analysis and maintain proper documentation of results according to standard operating procedures
  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment used for quality control testing
  • Prepare chemical stock solutions, reagents, and calibration standards
  • Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with laboratory supervisors and chemists to address quality-related issues impacting operations
  • Follow established safety procedures and laboratory protocols

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Some prior laboratory experience required
  • Experience working night shifts or rotating shifts preferred
  • Experience working in chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other industrial production environments strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting quality control processes or laboratory testing is a plus
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Preferred Background

  • Technical or polytechnic training in Chemical, Process, or Technical Engineering (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and quality control systems
