Brunel is recruiting Produced Water Technicians to work with our Oil and Gas client in Midland, TX.

The selected candidate will be responsible for operate and maintain water recycling and Salt Water Disposal (SWD) infrastructure in coordination with the Operational Control Center, Water Coordinators, and Water Management personnel.

This role ensures the reliable operation of recycling facilities, storage systems, and related equipment while supporting daily operational demands. The position requires strong field engagement, mechanical aptitude, and basic to moderate computer proficiency for work order management, accounting systems, and operational communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate recycling equipment in coordination with OCC and Water Coordinators.
  • Manage recycling water supplies and storage to meet scheduled demand.
  • Coordinate water supply and movement of produced influent and recycled effluent.
  • Monitor pipelines, hoses, influent and effluent streams.
  • Collect and test produced water and recycled effluent samples.
  • Read and record daily volumes, flow rates, and pressures.
  • Support Control Room operations with manual tasks.
  • Assist in construction of new facilities with Water Management, Land, and contractors.
  • Maintain inventory logs and notify supervisor of supply needs.
  • Utilize computer systems for work order notifications, accounting entries, and operational updates.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Execute light corrective mechanical repairs.
  • Assist with major repairs as needed.
  • Generate and complete work orders.
  • Perform inspections of tanks, pipelines, and facilities.
  • Conduct power washing and equipment cleaning.
  • Maintain facility security and housekeeping standards.
  • Adhere to all Company HSE policies and state/local regulations.
  • Use proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Follow manufacturers' manuals, SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
  • Detect and report oil, water, or gas leaks.
  • Properly manage recycling waste including NORM, air quality, and oil skim.
  • Use appropriate PPE at all times.

Operate and manage:

  • Above Ground Storage Tanks (ASTs)
  • Recycling ponds
  • Pumps, compressors, engines, motors
  • Valves, strainers, filters, piping
  • Electrical panels and water quality testers

Complete and submit:

  • Equipment readings and logs
  • Preventative maintenance records
  • Work orders and inspection records
  • Timesheets and mileage reports

Essential skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous or current Salt Water Disposal (SWD) experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate operational and mechanical competency.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic to moderate computer proficiency (MS Office required).
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram instructions.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to abnormal operating conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
