Transmission Line Electrical Engineer

Location: Brisbane preferred - Open to candidates across the East Coast

About the Role

We are currently partnering with a leading transmission and infrastructure solutions provider seeking an experienced Transmission Line Electrical Engineer to support utilities, EPC contractors, and major energy projects across Australia.

This role will focus on providing technical expertise across overhead transmission line products including conductors, insulators, fittings, and associated hardware, supporting projects from tender through to delivery and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and engineering advice to utilities and EPC contractors.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements to develop compliant solutions.
  • Perform transmission line calculations including sag & tension, ampacity, corona, and insulation coordination.
  • Support product application engineering, troubleshooting, and technical investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, CIGRÉ, and Australian standards.
  • Assist with technical proposals, RFIs, technical documentation, and customer presentations.
  • Provide on-site support during installation and commissioning when required.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and sales teams across project delivery.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience within transmission lines, overhead line systems, or T&D infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of transmission line products and applications.
  • Experience working with utilities, EPC contractors, or renewable energy projects highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience within transmission lines, overhead line systems, or T&D infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of transmission line products and applications.
