Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning works for offshore and FPSO projects within a shipyard environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Mechanical Completion (‘A’ Scope ITRs) and Pre-commissioning (‘B’ Scope ITRs) activities in accordance with project specifications and procedures.
  • Perform system walkdowns, inspection, and punch list clearance based on drawings and commissioning requirements.
  • Support commissioning activities, including Operation Test Procedures (OTP), alongside vendors and discipline leads.
  • Interpret P&IDs, system drawings, and vendor documentation for execution of works.
  • Coordinate closely with construction teams and discipline engineers to ensure readiness for commissioning.
  • Use appropriate tools and test equipment safely and effectively.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and update completion status.

HSSE & Compliance:

  • Comply with all HSSE standards, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements.
  • Identify hazards and ensure safe execution of tasks on site.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and emergency response practices.
  • Promote safe work practices and intervene on unsafe conditions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in construction, pre-commissioning, or commissioning within Oil & Gas / Offshore / Marine projects.
  • Experience in FPSO projects or shipyard environment preferred.
  • Familiar with completion systems/tools (e.g., ECOM) and commissioning documentation.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems, piping, valves, and rotating equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PTW, JSA, and site safety practices.
  • Valid Shipyard Safety Instruction Course (General Trade) – SSIC(GT) certification (mandatory).
