Introduction

Brunel is seeking an experienced LNG Loading Master to join a globally recognised inspection, testing and certification organisation supporting marine terminal operations in Gladstone.

This is a critical position responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient arrival, berthing, loading and departure of LNG carriers. You will act as a key link between vessel officers, terminal personnel, port authorities, pilots, shipping agents and other marine stakeholders.

  • Conduct periodic ship and jetty safety inspections.
  • Coordinate shipping movements with port authorities, pilots and shipping agents.
  • Communicate loading schedules, vessel clearances and expected departure times.
  • Prepare and issue cargo documentation.
  • Inspect contracted marine service vessels, including ferries, barges and crew boats.
  • Maintain confidentiality between cargo trading partners.
  • Ensure all activities comply with client, site, safety and quality requirements.
  • Provide roster coverage for other team members when required.

Essential skills and knowledge

You will be a safety-focused marine professional who remains composed in a highly regulated operating environment. You will communicate clearly, work collaboratively and build effective relationships with vessel crews, clients and operational stakeholders. You will ideally bring:

  • Class 1 or Class 2 marine qualification, or relevant marine terminal experience.
  • Experience in vessel berthing, mooring, cargo loading or terminal operations.
  • LNG or tanker experience, although comparable marine backgrounds will be considered.
  • Sound knowledge of shipping, port and marine operating procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
