What are you going to do 

  • The India Communications Head will lead company's communications strategy and execution across the India business. This role is responsible for building company's reputation, strengthening stakeholder trust, supporting project visibility, and fostering a connected, engaged internal culture. As the senior communications leader in India, you will shape company's narrative, provide strategic counsel, and ensure consistent, high-quality communications across all touchpoints.
  • Develop and deliver the communications strategy for India.
  • Act as the main media contact for India; manage ongoing relationships with journalists and industry media.
  • Lead thought-leadership initiatives including articles, interviews, speaking opportunities, and executive visibility.
  • Oversee content development for press releases, announcements, corporate materials, and editorial pieces.
  • Monitor national policy, regulatory shifts, and sector trends to anticipate risks and advise leadership.
  • Lead internal communications, including leadership messages, project updates, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Produce clear, engaging, and timely internal content for key audiences across India.
  • Collaborate with HR and functional teams to support employee engagement and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Prepare communication materials for government bodies, partners, investors, and external stakeholders.
  • Support project teams by delivering talking points, briefing notes, presentations, and strategic communication plans.
  • Ensure all communication follows company's brand standards and governance.
  • Shape company India's digital voice through content planning, campaigns, and performance analytics.
  • Strengthen company's India's presence on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
  • Produce compelling multimedia content that highlights company's projects, innovations, and impact.
  • Serve as the communications lead in India during issues or crises, ensuring swift and coordinated responses.
  • Manage and train India business leaders on media handling, narrative discipline, and crisis preparedness.
  • Maintain updated response toolkits, key message documents, and protocols.
  • Manage PR agencies, creative partners, and content suppliers.
  • Work cross-functionally with India leadership, Business Development, HR, Operations, Sustainability, Legal, and project teams.
  • Uphold governance standards and ensure communications are compliant, accurate, and brand-aligned.
  • Promote high standards in writing, storytelling, and visual communication across India operations.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor Engineer Degree
  • 15+ years' experience in corporate communications, PR, public affairs, or related fields.
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, sustainability, or industrial sectors is an advantage.
  • Strong strategic, writing, editorial, and media relations capabilities.
  • Proven ability to operate with senior stakeholders in complex organisations.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in additional Indian languages is a plus.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
