Introduction

Reporting to the Principal Engineer of Electrical Operations Engineering, this role is pivotal in supporting the Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering groups in all matters related to the Plant Electrical System. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Plant Electrical System with minimal downtime.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Plant Electrical System and its components, including:
    • Switchgears (138kV, 4.16kV, 480V)
    • Motor Control Centers (MCC)
    • Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS)
    • Transformers
    • Energy Management Systems (EMS/SCADA)
    • Electrical System Studies
  • Support the creation and maintenance of:
    • Company procedures and processes
    • Key performance indicators and metrics for electrical systems
    • Electrical drawings and databases
  • Assist with the Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Contribute to Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) processes
  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support to Operations and Maintenance groups

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Systems
  • One to four years of experience as an engineer in a process plant environment is desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 application suite
  • Familiarity with power systems modeling tools such as ETAP/SKM is preferred
