What are you going to do 

  • Manage the end-to-end credit function, with focus on minimising the working capital bind in the receivables by overseeing the debtors aged trial balance and ensuring overdue accounts are being promptly contacted and collected in accordance with credit policy.
  • Achieve the above by maintaining a high collection ratio target as set by the business.
  • Perform debt recovery processes & negotiating payment plans with customers.
  • Monitor and maintaining appropriate customer credit limits through analysis of sales patterns and credit risk.
  • Resolve customer account issues and ensuring that collection processes are adhered to for all overdue accounts.
  • Refer debt to third party collection agency when required.
  • Support strategy and process development for new business initiatives that involve credit risk.
  • Regularly report to leadership team on accounts receivable performance, including trend analysis and business/ market context.
  • Continuously review processes and seek to find efficiencies to drive down average accounts receivable days and minimise bad debts with a focus on opportunities to leverage technology to automate and streamline operations.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Extensive experience in credit control and accounts receivable management, ideally within the energy sector or similar industries.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, with experience in negotiating and holding difficult conversations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in financial software and systems related to credit management and accounts receivable
  • Demonstrated ability to both work as a team player and independently with a number of diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to work autonomously in a very fast-paced environment.
