What are you going to do 

  • Support Drilling Operations: Assist the Driller in daily operations to ensure all activities are executed safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor Drilling Equipment: Perform regular checks and maintenance to ensure the optimal functioning of drilling equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to company safety policies, procedures, and government regulations. Actively participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Rig Floor Operations: Handle drill pipes and casing, assist with rig floor equipment, and maintain smooth operations.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with the Driller and other crew members to ensure coordination and efficiency.
  • Housekeeping: Ensure the rig is clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations and follow safety protocols to handle incidents effectively.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Experience: Previous experience as a AD or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work long hours in various weather conditions.
  • Technical Skills: Basic mechanical and technical skills related to drilling operations.
  • Teamwork: Strong ability to work well in a team environment and follow directions.
  • Driver’s License: Open, manual Driver’s License.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications for drilling operations, including Well Control certifications.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Well Control (IWCF or IADC)Drilling and Completions General Induction (DCGI) or Industry Safety Induction (ISI)
  • Certificate III in Oil and Gas Drilling (Onshore)
  • First Response to Fire
  • Operate Breathing Apparatus
  • Apply First Aid (including CPR)Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Working at Heights
  • Wellsite Permit to Work – Holder
  • Operate Vehicles in the field – 4WD
