Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to support financial operations within our West Texas business unit. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and analysis of financial data while partnering with operational leaders to support expense, capital and headcount planning.

This position is ideal for a strong accounting professional experienced in general ledger management, GAAP compliance, financial reporting, and forecasting support.

What are you going to do

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post complex journal entries in accordance with GAAP
Monitor and maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts
Perform and review complex account reconciliations
Prepare and analyze monthly financial performance reports
Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes
Analyze expense, headcount, and volumetric data to support business targets
Collaborate with department leaders to provide financial insights
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures
Utilize financial systems and advanced MS Excel for reporting and analysis

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
3+ years of accounting experience (Senior Accountant level preferred)
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Experience with financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with moderate direction
