Functieomschrijving

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role throughout the entire software development lifecycle. Working in an Agile team following Kanban principles, you will develop high-quality embedded software for complex hardware platforms and contribute to innovative product development. You will collaborate closely with developers, testers, and architects, refine requirements, and translate technical challenges into robust and maintainable solutions. A strong focus on Clean Code, software quality, and continuous improvement is central to this role.

  • Design, develop, and unit test embedded software in C and C++ for custom PCB-based systems, ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions.
  • Contribute to software architecture and design activities using UML and object-oriented design principles, creating maintainable and future-proof applications.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot embedded functionality, including bootloaders, multi-threaded applications, RTOS-based environments, and low-level hardware interactions.
  • Support software validation, debugging, automation, and development tooling using Python while contributing to a stable, efficient, and high-quality development process.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (hbo/wo equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in embedded software development using C and C++.
  • Experience with STM microcontrollers, RTOS, and bare-metal embedded systems.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Git or Subversion.
  • Strong debugging, software analysis, and multithreaded programming skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
