Brunel is looking for a project at one of their clients in Brussels for a Data Solution Architect.

Functieomschrijving

As a Data Solution Architect and Lead Engineer, you will design and own the end-to-end data architecture on Microsoft Fabric, leading engineering efforts across multiple data products.

You translate business goals into scalable, secure solutions, define technical standards, and ensure consistent data modeling across the platform.

You guide architectural decisions across domains and teams, align with enterprise security and interoperability standards, and partner with governance to maintain data lineage and access control.

As Lead Engineer, you maintain a clear release process, oversee testing, lead code and design reviews, mentor developers, and resolve complex issues.

You collaborate closely with product owners, data engineers, and analysts to ensure implementations match the intended architecture.

You'll work 2-3 days on-site in Brussels, the remaining days working remotely.

Vereisten

You are an experienced architect and engineering lead with a proven track record on Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse with Fabric adoption.

You combine strong data modeling skills with hands-on expertise in:

  • Fabric Lakehouse, OneLake, pipelines, notebooks, Dataflows, semantic models and Power BI
  • SQL and PySpark with good understanding of Python
  • CI/CD for data with Git and deployment pipelines plus automated testing
  • Performance tuning for Spark, SQL, and Power BI models
  • Strong knowledge of API integration
  • CDC and event streaming

Good understanding of governance, security, and privacy by design.

You communicate fluently in English and Dutch or French.
