Introduction

Our client is a long-established Australian-owned supplier of specialist technical products to the energy, resources and industrial sectors. They are looking for a technically credible, commercially minded professional to take the lead in ultrasonic testing equipment sales across Australia.

This is an opportunity to combine your knowledge of ultrasonic testing applications with customer engagement, technical product advice and business development. You'll be the company's primary contact for UT sales and technical knowledge, while building strong customer and supplier relationships across the country.

Based in Perth, you'll work closely with an experienced National Manager of NDT and have support from UT technical and inside sales colleague. The role will involve regular travel, including to the east coast.

What are you going to do

  • Grow sales of ultrasonic testing and broader NDT equipment across Australia.
  • Develop relationships with NDT service providers, inspection teams, asset owners, engineering contractors and industrial customers.
  • Understand customer inspection requirements and recommend suitable equipment and applications.
  • Provide technically informed advice on ultrasonic testing solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, follow up opportunities and manage the sales process from enquiry through to close.
  • Build a strong pipeline through proactive business development, customer visits and product demonstrations.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and keep up to date with market and product developments.

Essential skills and knowledge

You'll bring a combination of practical UT knowledge and sales capability, and be confident working with technically informed customers. You will have:

  • UT Level 2 certification
  • Strong technical experience in ultrasonic testing applications
  • At least two years' sales experience
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a consultative approach
  • The drive and organisation to manage a national territory and develop new business
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally

Knowledge or exposure to other NDT methods such as RT, ET, MPI, PT or VT will be an advantage. Familiarity with competing UT technologies and products, including phased array and TFM, is also highly regarded. Experience with NDT inspection or service providers will be beneficial.

If you have UT expertise and enjoy turning technical conversations into strong customer relationships and commercial outcomes, we'd welcome your application.

What we offer

  • Attractive salary, plus superannuation and car allowance, depending on experience.
  • Incentive scheme
  • A national role with the opportunity to shape and grow the company's UT market presence.
  • Technical support from an experienced NDT manager and a Sydney-based UT colleague.
  • The chance to build lasting customer relationships while staying close to the technology and applications.

If you have UT expertise and enjoy turning technical conversations into strong customer relationships and commercial outcomes, we'd welcome your application. Please note this is a confidential search; further company and product details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
