Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - NPI to join a major greenfields Pilbara project within a high-performing Owner's Team. Initially Perth based, this role will transition to FIFO during the construction phase and support delivery of key non-process infrastructure packages including roads, drainage, utilities and associated infrastructure works across a large-scale resource development.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead delivery of NPI construction packages across a major greenfields project
  • Coordinate contractors and manage day-to-day project execution activities
  • Drive strong safety leadership and ensure compliance with project standards and procedures
  • Monitor project progress, schedules and short-term planning activities
  • Manage QA/QC processes including inspections, ITPs, NCRs and handovers
  • Support interface coordination across civil, SMP, electrical and commissioning teams
  • Review RFIs, drawings, technical queries and as-built documentation
  • Identify project risks and support mitigation and recovery planning initiatives
  • Maintain accurate reporting, forecasting and project documentation
  • Support commissioning readiness, completion activities and project handovers
  • Build strong working relationships across the project team, client stakeholders and contractors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and delivery outcomes across the broader project team

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Proven experience delivering greenfields NPI packages within mining, resources or major infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in roads, drainage, utilities, hardstands and associated infrastructure works
  • Demonstrated site-based project engineering experience across large-scale FIFO projects
  • Strong contractor management and interface coordination capability
  • Sound understanding of QA/QC processes, inspections, ITPs and construction documentation
  • Experience managing project schedules, short-term planning and progress reporting
  • Ability to review technical documentation including RFIs, drawings and as-builts
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience within Owner's Team, EPCM or principal contractor environments highly regarded
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with exposure to systems such as Aconex, MS Project or Primavera P6 advantageous
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment and transition to FIFO during the construction phase
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening required
