What are you going to do 

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join their dedicated team in Abu Dhabi. This contract-based opportunity offers an exciting chance to contribute to globally significant projects while working alongside top-tier industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and control project schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure timelines, milestones, and deliverables meet contractual requirements.
  • Develop detailed Level 3 / Level 4 schedules using Primavera P6 covering all EPC phases.
  • Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Project Breakdown Structure (PBS), and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
  • Prepare and update project baseline schedules and ensure proper change management.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against baseline using KPIs and earned value analysis (EVA).
  • Identify schedule risks, critical paths, and potential delays; recommend mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for schedule alignment.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for internal and client review.
  • Conduct delay analysis (EOT claims, time impact analysis, window analysis, etc.).
  • Support contract management team in claims preparation and dispute resolution.
  • Interface with clients (ADNOC or similar) for schedule reviews, approvals, and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC planning standards and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, progress reviews, and management reporting sessions.
  • Track procurement deliverables and ensure alignment with project schedule milestones.
  • Monitor subcontractor schedules and integrate into the master project plan.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Minimum 12-15+ years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum).
  • Mandatory GCC experience.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC project planning standards.
  • Strong knowledge of CPM, WBS, PBS, CBS, and S-curve development.
  • Advanced user of Primavera P6.
