Introduction

Brunel International is seeking an experienced Senior Document Writer (Operational Readiness) to support our PNG team remotely. This role will lead the development of Planned Repair Tasks (PRTs) for new assets within a major gold project, working closely with maintenance and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality readiness documentation.

What are you going to do 

As the Senior Document Writer, you will be responsible for converting Preventive Maintenance (PM) strategies into clear, accurate, and field-ready work instructions within the Pronto system. Each PRT you develop will accurately reflect failure modes and monitoring points identified in the underlying PM strategy, ensuring execution crews have reliable, complete instructions from the first time each PM runs.

Your role will involve leading the senior document writing process based on PM input sheets imported into Pronto, advising on templates and upload procedures, and maintaining PRT development progress against the tracking matrix. You will collaborate closely with onsite technical specialists to ensure documents represent real field conditions, review and approve documents created by others for quality and consistency, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will manage the sign-off and filing of equipment information from OEMs and Project Teams and handle other document-related tasks during the project phase.

Role Accountabilities

  • Lead senior document writing based on PM input sheets imported into Pronto, advising on templates and upload procedures for the wider document-writing function.
  • Maintain PRT development progress against the tracking matrix and provide weekly updates to the Technical Specialist - Planning and Reliability.
  • Obtain input and feedback from onsite technical specialists on PRT development, ensuring documents reflect real field conditions.
  • Review and sign off all documents created by others for template consistency, quality, and accuracy before attachment to Pronto.
  • Ensure every identified failure mode and monitor point is accurately reflected in the PRT attachment.
  • Guarantee every new PM developed has an associated PRT attached before go-live.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to confirm technical details as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all PRT documentation.
  • Manage sign-off and filing of all acquired equipment information from OEMs and Project Teams on behalf of the Technical Specialist - Planning and Reliability.
  • Manage other document tasks as required throughout the project phase.

Essential skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in technical document writing, preferably within mining, engineering, or related industries.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling maturity concepts (planning horizons, schedule compliance, backlog, and materials kitting management).
  • Knowledge of reliability frameworks, including RCM (Reliability-Centred Maintenance), FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and root cause analysis.
  • Strong ability to work effectively within a team environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently while working remotely from a home office.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to site as required.
