Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Communications Engineer to design, deliver and commission advanced communication systems across mining and heavy industry projects. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on end-to-end delivery, from concept and design through to commissioning and operational handover.

What are you going to do 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement wireless, RF and fibre communication systems
  • Deliver end-to-end engineering across design, configuration, testing and commissioning
  • Work across voice and data systems including TETRA, P25, DMR, LTE and Wi-Fi
  • Design and integrate backhaul technologies including microwave and fibre networks
  • Develop technical documentation, including designs, drawings and test plans
  • Support built infrastructure design including communications rooms, towers and cabling systems
  • Conduct site visits, troubleshooting and commissioning activities
  • Ensure compliance with Australian standards, safety and project requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and safety-in-design processes
  • Engage with clients, vendors and subcontractors
  • Provide technical mentorship and peer review to junior engineers
  • Support tendering and project estimation activities

Essential skills and knowledge

Essential:

  • Degree qualified in Communications, Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Exposure to system configuration, testing and commissioning
  • Experience with digital and analogue radio systems (TETRA, P25, DMR)
  • Exposure to LTE, Wi-Fi and microwave/fibre backhaul systems
  • Experience in industrial or project-based environments
