Introduction

On behalf of our client, a global Oil and Gas company, we are currently looking for a Safety & Assurance advisor to join their team in Perth on a 12 month contract.

What are you going to do 

The Safety and Assurance Advisor is accountable for general safety support to operations, management of the HSE audit & assurance program, HSE data & performance reporting and execution of the incident investigation program. They will also work closely with the training and competency team to keep HSE training and inductions programs up to date.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supports operations in all aspects of HSE as required.
  • Support the scheduling, preparation, implementation and reporting for HSE assurance activities.
  • Focal point for contractor management HSE including monitoring ISN compliance, developing HSE bridging documents and supporting the Supply Chain Team execute the Contractor Management Framework.
  • Manage the incident investigation program including monitoring investigation quality, providing support to lead investigators and monitor action item closure compliance.
  • Manage content of HSE training and induction materials
  • Travel to the field to conduct various HSE related support activities including shutdowns, regulatory inspections, audits and projects
  • Collate data required for HSE performance monitoring including preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Prepare monthly HSE regulatory recordable reports
  • Provide office base safety support promoting a positive HSE culture.
  • Provides fortnightly reminders to owners of audit, inspection and investigation action items falling due

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Degree in safety, engineering, environment or other relevant field of study
  • Experience working in the energy industry
  • Audit experience
  • Experience working with NOPSEMA
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with seasoned professionals in an office environment.
  • Confident and professional communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Root cause or causal factor analysis trained
  • Experienced with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to use data management and reporting applications.
