Introduction

On behalf of our client, a High-Profile Tier 1 Mining Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a Principal Advisor - Cost to support the Closure Execution of a Project. You will be responsible for leading cost forecasting, reporting and cost control activities while providing leadership to a team of Cost Controllers. This will be a 12 month contract, based in the Brisbane, CBD.

What are you going to do 

  • Manage a team of Cost Controllers and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead forecasting and progress reporting of project costs, commitments and expenditure
  • Liaise with stakeholders to support package forecasting activities
  • Facilitate Project Change Management processes
  • Review cost data and provide trend analysis and recommendations
  • Support proposal, bid and claim evaluations with the Contracts team
  • Prepare estimates to assess scenario options
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with Construction Contractors to support cost and schedule forecasting
  • Possible requirement to travel to the project site from time to time

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Extensive experience in Cost Control for major construction packages
  • Understanding of project management and project controls concepts
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience using cost management tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Exposure to major projects and Tier 1 EPC or EPCM contractors is desirable
