What are you going to do 

  • Identifies in conjunction with the start-up Supervisor and Operating Authority (OTL) the procedures &precautions to be taken, to provide safe place for the intended start-up activities.
  • Assist the start-up Supervisor and Finalize on site start-up procedures sharing them with the FieldOperation core crew to make them applicable on site.
  • Assist the start-up Supervisor to finalize a detail start-up sequence in close collaboration with the corefield operation crew on site.
  • Participate in the preparation of the kick off meeting for start-up activities.
  • Participate to the preparation of the risk assessment of the activities to be performed during the startup.
  • Prepare as area authority the potential permit to work required for start-up activities associated withCompany Only Fluid (COF).
  • Liaise with the start-up Supervisor on the main site to coordinate the progress of the start-up.
  • Contributes to updates the Start-up monitoring tools as required with the start-up Supervisor.
  • Witness along with the start-up Supervisor the Operational Test performed by the commissioning andliaise with the field operation team.
  • Assist the start-up Supervisor in preparing the request and order for required start-up tools. Ensureproper storage and identification of the start-up tools.
  • Prepare the operation of first fill with the commissioning team.
  • Prepare arrival on site (PTW, KOM, JSA…) of the vendor involve in the start-up of the facility. Identify and check the critical valves (especially on brown field) use a battery limit for leak test.
  • Check any type B and C punch list and investigate on it if requested by the start-up Supervisor FieldOperations lead, the OTL or the OIM.
  • Ensure the list of inhibition and isolation with the associated certificates and risk assessment properlysigned and validated by the relevant persons.
  • Be aware of the potential Downgraded situation on site and update the core crew on any updateassociated with the start-up activity.
  • Participates to HazId, JSA and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of new facilities.
  • Prepare, update and check on site the "Red line mark-up" P&ID at the end of the construction and duringcommissioning phase. Ensure a set of P&ID up to date is always available for field operation team.
  • Contributes to the Incident Free initiative on site by reporting any anomaly, defect, bad practice, lack ofequipment or lack of competence.
  • Assist the start-up Supervisor to ensure all operators on site are well aware on the new safety system,process upgrade bring by the project.
  • Maintains local signage and barriers adapted to the situation over time with a special attention to theboundaries of the SimOps area, the exit walkways and scaffolds.
  • Assists the teams for procedures for mechanical isolations, de-isolations and draining.
  • Suggests improvements and requests modifications if Operating Procedures are not satisfactory.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Education: higher national diploma or certificate (equivalent to A-levels + 2 years' study).
  • Industry experience: minimum 5 years' experience in O&G production operations. Technical, personal and / or linguistic competencies:
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining good relations with colleagues and others.
  • Must have a proven sense of operational responsibility, courage to intervene and challenge.
  • Previous experience with offshore operation, Production, oil & gas preferably former control room operators.
  • Willing to work flexible shifts and extended shifts as required.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Professional or HSE certifications:
  • Basic firefighting.
  • T-BOSIET, H2S training OPITO approved.
  • COMPANY PTW training & JSA awareness.
  • Confined Space Entry & Rescue, Authorized Gas Tester.
  • COMPANY lifting and rigging training, COMPANY manual handling training.
  • Radiation protection awareness.
  • Hazard & Energy control Logout & Tagout awareness.
  • Multi Technician - Instruments
  • Multi Technician - Electrical
