Our client is a growing gold mining company with operations across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. With continued growth across its operating portfolio, they are seeking experienced Medical Emergency Services Officers to support site-based medical, emergency response and safety functions.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Kalgoorlie on an 8:6 roster, suited to candidates with a background in emergency response, mine rescue, paramedicine, nursing or site-based medical services.

What are you going to do 

Reporting through to the HSE Supervisor, the Medical Emergency Services Officer will play a key role in supporting site medical services, emergency response capability and workplace incident management.

The role will involve responding to medical emergencies and workplace incidents, supporting the setup and operation of the site medical centre, maintaining accurate records, conducting emergency drills and supporting broader site safety initiatives.

You will work closely with the HSE team, operational leaders and site personnel to ensure a proactive, professional and effective emergency response function is in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to medical emergencies, workplace incidents and emergency response events
  • Provide first aid, including resuscitation where required
  • Support the setup, operation and ongoing management of the site medical centre
  • Conduct fire response and hazardous materials response when required
  • Administer medication in line with site requirements and relevant qualifications
  • Maintain accurate medical, emergency response and incident records
  • Conduct emergency drills and support emergency preparedness activities
  • Assist with risk assessments, investigations and safety initiatives
  • Support mine rescue and emergency response capability across site
  • Work collaboratively with the HSE team and site leadership group

Essential skills and knowledge

You will be an experienced emergency response or medical services professional with exposure to mining, heavy industry or remote site environments.

You may come from a background as a MESO, paramedic, nurse or emergency response professional, with the confidence to respond to incidents, support site personnel and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in emergency response, medical services or mine rescue
  • Background in mining, resources, heavy industry or remote site environments preferred
  • Certificate III in Emergency Response or similar highly regarded
  • Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent highly regarded
  • Drug and Alcohol Screening qualification desirable
  • Mine Rescue experience highly regarded
  • Confined Space certification desirable
  • Strong first aid, emergency response and incident management capability
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with site-based teams

  • Salary package of $140,000 to $155,000 per annum, depending on experience
